Membership Information

Dear Fellow Professional;

   We would like to take a moment to introduce our organization and explain the potential benefits of belonging to the association.

   The Alabama Private Investigators Association (APIA) was formed by concerned Private Investigators as a means to provide "One Voice for the Future" to all Private Investigators in the state of Alabama.

   It is anticipated the state will eventually make licensing a requirement for all PI’s to conduct business in our state. Our goal is to set the standards early and in doing so provide the example for the state to follow. We wish to be the ones who set the standards instead of someone from outside the profession making those standards for us. By joining the APIA you will be involved in establishing those standards and later lobbying the state for legislative enforcement. This will eventually establish a set of standards that are the same throughout the state of Alabama, minimizing confusion to both the investigator and our clients.

   Another of our focal points is training for PI’s. We wish to promote a standardized training for future investigators, from those initially entering the field to continuing education for all investigators. The training for initial investigators will be eventually fielded through state educational facilities and continuing training will be in the form of attendance to seminars, conferences, and other types of pre-approved training.

   Our ultimate goal is to ensure the public that when they wish to hire a Private Investigator from the State of Alabama they can be assured they will be getting a well trained, professional investigator that will provide a service that is above reproach.

   In addition to the above, we feel that this association will provide a positive means for investigators to network; building contacts that will provide a known base in the event an investigator need assistance.

   We thank you for this opportunity to provide you with a little information concerning the Alabama Private Investigators Association and to contact one of the members on the membership committee for more information in joining the APIA.
